Welcome to NeuroBalance Mechanics.
If you’re neurodivergent and have spent years trying strategies that were supposed to help, only to wonder why they never quite worked the way they were supposed to, you’re in the right place.
This blog explores a different question:
What changes when we stop asking ourselves to work harder at strategies and start looking at the mechanics underneath them?
NeuroBalance Mechanics is a living exploration of how orientation, regulation, sensitivity, environment, working memory, and nervous-system mechanics interact. You don’t need to understand the whole framework before you begin.
Where should I start?
There is a natural progression through the four main areas, but it isn’t a rule.
1. The 3-Step Path
Start here if you’re wondering how change begins. Observation, regulation, and orientation create the conditions that make the rest of the work possible.
2. ND Mechanics
Explore the underlying mechanics. Why do some strategies work beautifully in one state and fail completely in another? What changes when we work with the nervous system instead of against it?
3. Sensitivity
Explore sensitivity as information rather than simply something that needs to be reduced. This includes emotional intensity, sensory experience, RSD, environmental signals, and the ways a sensitive nervous system responds to its surroundings.
4. Your Personal Map
This is where the framework becomes yours. Instead of trying to fit yourself into someone else’s system, you begin noticing your own patterns, conditions, signals, supports, and pathways.
You don’t have to follow the sequence
If one of those subjects immediately makes you think, “That’s me,” start there.
This isn't a course you have to complete in order.
Think of it as a map.
The structure is here when you need orientation, but curiosity is also a perfectly good way to navigate.
Start where you recognize yourself. Follow what helps you understand your system. Build from there.
